(I didn't really tear it up but I do intend to make copies so I CAN tear IT up and I'm sending the shreds with my letter). I'm writing to object that they held the meeting without me and state the parts I disagree with -- which is the entire thing, by the way. My suggestion was going to be just this..I would not mess with them AT ALL...I would let a lawyer be the one they hear from, and I would make sure they get a clear message that this is not just lousy and unkind, it is ILLEGAL, and you don't intend to allow it to continue even one more day. To withhold food from a child is absolutely abusive. Period. Good luck, Sissi. Go get 'em. Raena
Guest guest
Sissi, Are you talking to your lawyer today? If it would help, I have a friend who is a retired sped teacher. I'd be happy to ask her any questions for you etc. I didn't know how much you'd be comfortable with my sharing about Boone. I hope it's OK but I did tell her you've had some problems, and she strongly suggests you make sure you're keeping a journal. She says you will be much more convincing if you can pull out dates and details rather than only being able to say, " One time the teacher did this... " Please keep us updated. {{{{{Sissi}}}}} -Sara. Guest guest
" Boone was not allowed to go to lunch again today because he didn't finish his work ... " > WHAT?????? That is nuts. How can they not let a child go to lunch just because he didn't finish his work. And again? How many times have they done this? Oh, I think I would be really pissed! Okay take away recess or something but lunch? No Way, no How! Can they even do that legally? What are you going to do about this? Guest guest
I've made a decison. I'm not sending him back to school until > everything is resolved. > > They will hear from me and my lawyer. That is probably a very good decision! Kids need there lunch in order to function for the rest of the day! Tina w.
Guest guest
I've been catching up on the e-mail from the weekend, and have to echo everyone else's sentiments here.... this is outrageous! Hope you're feeling better by now. Keep us updated. ~ Karin Sissi Garvey wrote: > I THOUGHT I had called to cancel Boone's IEP, but apparently they went > ahead and had one without me rather than postponing the damned thing.
