Guest guest
Hi there and welcome to the group. Your story fits with how many of us seem to have gotten AS, but what startles me is the two mistakes (as I see them) that were made on you --first that a C-Section would lead to retained placenta is very unusual, I would think. Did they not see the pieces in there? Also, the first D & C was very careless to have not gotten it all out. I'm very sorry it has come to this for you. But be assured that not too much time has elapsed since the last D & C, and with the right surgeon, they should be able to remove the adhesions. I am very glad you finally got to a good OB who diagnosed you right away, with me it took almost three years. I was breastfeeding, and so this was seen as my problem (very common, too!). I personally think that all D & Cs performed on a recently pregnant uterus should signal AS to every doctor. Anyway, continue to ask questions, and push for the best surgeon and AS specialist you can find. .
Guest guest
You asked about recovery time after a hysteroscopy. Will yours be a LAP/HYST or just a HYST? It took me longer to recover from my LAP/HYST than my HYSTS. When I had just a HYST I was feeling pretty much back to normal after about 3 or 4 days. Maybe a little residual ache but nothing too bad. I had mine done on Thursday and was back to work on Monday each time. When I had my LAP it took a bit longer. I went back to work two days later but was feeling VERY rough...it took me a good 5 or 6 days to really feel functional again and I still had some pretty significant discomfort even after that. In either case I was feeling back to normal by the following week for sure. I would suggest that for a HYST you plan on taking at least the day after off of work, and for a LAP, you might want to take two days after off. The worst part for me was the general anesthetic each time. I dont' react well to it and it made me very sick. I actually threw up the entire day of surgery each time....but not everyone has such a hard time with it as I do. Good luck to you!
