What medication do you take for paranoia, and irritability that doesn't cause weight gain

Hi,

I have a 46-year-old friend who was recently diagnosed with ME and Fibro. She

has been sick for awhile, gone to a battery of doctors and finally ruled out

other stuff.

She shared she's been noticing irrational paranoia, irritability, and stress.

She already takes Prozac, which she's taken for a couple months.

Knowing I have Fibro, she was hoping I could help.

She is going through an ugly divorce and needs to be at her best. She's worried

about going to a psychiatrist, thinking subpoenaed medical records might hurt

her case.

Her gynecologist suspects perimenopause, although she said her blood work showed

normal hormone levels.

She wants to ask her PCP to try her on a med that would help, but she doesn't

feel her PCP has a good understanding of psychotropic medications.

I thought I would ask if anyone takes medication that gets rid of paranoia and

irritability without causing weight gain. She's struggling with her weight (who

isn't?).

Would love to share with her what has worked and not worked for others.
