Guest guest
All, I had to smile as a Major we worked with would tell us how he is passing his college and military classes by using sleep learning tapes. Well, I went to the health food, mind altering section (laughing kindly) for some tapes. He had paid hundred of dollars for his. Well, I chose some of self help tapes, " How to get along with others " " How to be more beautiful person " etc. I started with two but to this day, and that has been twenty five years ago, I remember the intro to it, " I am a kind and loving person and everyone loves me " and everything else was not remembered. http://www.sleepwellbaby.com/ http://www.cvvc.org/HealingWellness/MindBodySoul.php : On this site, they provide a list of affirmations like I was given for a tape that played over and over messages. So if you feel comfortable when you are in a high cycle of pain saying, " I am a whole, and complete person, who feels no pain " then this is for your but when my pain cycles accelerate, I am saying: I am gonna tell my Doctor she did not give me enough meds and repeat that or maybe I can repeat my meds are working, my meds are working. Really, I respect this but at the point I am out and my foot is doubled in size and I fell out of the bed on the hip I hit last month and injured and I am schedule for a myelogram tomorrow, at least they can, test that tomorrow " ) The suggested reading from the Healing Wellness website, which is a website assisting The Center for Victims of Violence and Crime is a non-profit organization,is: • Heal Your Body, by Louise L. Hay • The Relaxation and Stress Reduction Workbook, by Martha • The Art of Doing Nothing, by Veronique Vienne Although, I tease, affirmations can be effective, I just think they have to be affirmations that encourage you in things you can meat the gals and expectations. Guest guest
Thanks for the info, Bennie! All, Another good set of affirmation-type readings is " The Four Agreements " by Don Ruiz. I have the deck of 48 cards of affirmations, which are awesome (although, I admit, I haven't looked at the cards in several years, but I do have the deck next to my computer...). He also has a book and some other " Four Agreements " products. I have heard wonderful things from other people about his stuff, as well. For those who like affirmation-type things, you may be interested in checking into this. Hope this helps someone, e.h.
