Guest guest
Thank you for all the prayers. Allot of people asked questions about collapsed ventricles. My ventricles have collapsed since DR. Frim put in the VP shunt and it lowered my ICP. The reasoning my shunt keeps plugging (4 times in 16 months) is because the catheter of the shunt goes into the 3rd ventricles. It is suppose to be surrounded by csf. SO, when your brain sheds cells they go into the csf. With collapsed ventricles my cells have nowhere to go , but into the shunt and it plugs. SO, I really do not have much choice, but to have this shunt placed elsewhere. The foramen magnum shunt does not go into a ventricle. Yes, it is scary being that only 4 people in the world have them 2 of which DR. Frim did. In response to running and finding a different doctor, I FULLY trust DR. Frim. He is the best. It is not his fault that things keep going wrong. I thank God everyday that I have found him. He saved my son, 's, life. I have learned so much working in clinic with him. He takes the time to explain things to me. He trusts me to help all of the chiari patients. That means ALOT to me. My surgery will not be immediately due to some insurance problems I have right now. My husband worked in a steel mill and everybody was laid off. He has since started a new job. Insurance does not go in effect until mid April. Guest guest
I was just told that I have tendonitis in my left shoulder. One doctor believes my shoulder was injured when my neck and back were. I just didn't have as much pn as I have now,wow a major pain to type. I was given a prescription for Celebrix(sic)but my prescription insurance didn't accept it so my doctor went with Meloxicam 7.5 mg. for the anti inflamitory.
