Guest guest
Hello Group, I am new here. I am 49 and have pretty severe osteoarthritis. I've had one full knee replaced, one uni-compartmental knee, both thumb joints replaced and a week ago today I had my second lower lumbar fusion. I'm healing well and all the pre-surgical pain I had due to nerve compression is gone. Whoohoo!! The first fusion was L4/5 and this time around L3 was included. The good news is that everything above and below it is good. I pray I have NO further surgeries. I've run the gamut with pain medication and have to get to the point where I don't desire it at all. I've been on oxycodone since surgery but am wanting to switch to Vicodin for the rest of this healing process because I don't like oxycodone. It does strange things to me and at times puts me in almost like some sort of freaky dream state. I'm doing all I can to slow the progression of this arthritis and can say I absolutely hate it! But, I do try to keep things in perspective knowing that many people out there are dealing with a whole lot worse. I realize I do need support and found this group in hopes to give and receive support. Chronic pain sucks! Thanks for listening.
