Guest guest
I went to my back pain doctor last week. He looked at the test results - xrays, MRIs and EMG of neck and lumbar - DDD, DJD, moderate to severe arthritis, -bulging, herniated and ruptured discs-, some stenosis scoliosis and kyphosis. He wants me to try a back brace and see if that gives me any relief of pain. We have gone the physical therapy route for the last 4 years with no avail. He is talking surgery next. This is a man I trust my life with. He is a neurosurgeon. He did my brain surgery in 1989 when I had a subarachnoid cyst attached to my brain stem. And everything went fine. He changed specialties to Back Pain. He says 60% of his patients leave his office with no more scars than when they came in with. He loves doing surgery and if it is needed, he does his best to remedy the situation. He says if it comes to that with me, he cannot guarantee 100% relief of pain, only maybe 50% relief. But that in itself would be great. I know some of you have had experiences with back braces and I would like your input. Thanks, Colleen
