And help to pull them up towards your nose. I get some so bad I have to have my husband push my toes up until the cramp eases. If I am already standing, I can position my foot against the wall so as to press the toes up toward the leg. My grandfather took potassium for them. I found potassium helps keep the regular ones away. But those some of them are terrible. I hope you can get some relief soon.

But I have a potassium supplement that I take every morning since the cramp began and I drink enough Gatorade to drown in it,lol. It seems to help greatly especially when I use both the heating pad and the deep tissue massage machine(it's handheld). Today is the second day of the cramps and I feel much better. I've been using both methods( massage, and supplements) and they seem to be working. I can walk on it but with a limp and a little pain. I still have trouble lifting my foot to the toes up position. That brings back the side of the calf's spasms. Lets see what tomorrow brings. I didn't have any cramps last night so that's a plus. I'm going to walk this morning to test the leg. /NY PS, Thanks for the advice it is greatly appreciated.
Guest guest
, All I can tell you is that I found in my particular case I was depleted of salts when I got cramps like that, but it was always after exercise (loss of salts). To compensate, I started taking a daily Magnesium Citrate tab (400 mg), and after exercise supplemented with a potassium chloride tablet (and if necessary salty foods). This seemed to help me significantly. Bob > wrote: > I awoke this morning at 4:30 AM with the worst lower leg cramp that I have had in twenty years. I could not get out of bed quick enough. I had two cramps at once. The one in the entire calf, the other in my upper hamstring muscle. I still cannot stand on it let alone walk on it. Good morning and everybody, I've found a cure for onset muscle cramps, are you ready for this one? Tonic water, yes tonic water the is some quinine in it and it stops the muscle dead in there tracks. I've been drinking it every time I feel a spasm coming on.
Guest guest
Failed to mention that in my worst of times I also used quinine. Though no longer available OTC you can easily get online. Stock up before they decide to remove their also. Tried tonic water but hate the taste! > wrote: > I've found a cure for onset muscle cramps, are you ready for this one? > Tonic water, yes tonic water the is some quinine in it and it stops the muscle dead in there tracks. Guest guest
Hi there, Another thing for leg cramps is magnesium. Leg cramps can indicate an electrolyte imbalance in some cases so taking a magnesium tablet can help, or also stepping up potassium intake in the form of bananas or jacket potatoes (but tablets are not recommended for this). I had really bad leg cramps for a long time, started taking magnesium, and they went totally. Still take a magnesium tablet daily and have never had any since. Best wishes, Marina

You used to get it behind the pharmacy counter, but I don't know about now and I forgot about tonic water. I remember salt tablets they gave us in the military after PT.
