What kind of doctor can fix this? How have you fixed yours?

It sounds like you have more or less exactly what I had. The epidurals I have

had have indeed only been temporary, lasted about 6 weeks.

I went throuh a lengthy period of trying all sorts. I tried a chiropracter which

helped for a time but I ended up going back time and time again until she said

she could do no more, the disk simply would not stay in place.

Other than that I have spent a fortune on just about every other treatment you

can imagine, physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, massage (many kinds) and of

course, tried ignoring it and hoped it would go away. You can guess how that

last one worked out!

When the pain was at its worst I was so desperate to get relief I even tried

having a witch perform a healing spell. Stupid I know but I was just so

desperate to get any kind of relief from the pain and no, it didn't work at all.

I ended up having a discectomy where they removed part of the disc to release

the pressure on the nerves. If you do go down that route, make sure you do your

research on the surgeon who will be performing the operation. How many of this

type of ops has he/she done? How many of them were successful? etc.

My op unfortunately fell in the 1 in 20 range of failures, in other words, I was

the one out of twenty operations that went wrong.

The nerves in my back are now fused to the protective sheath (well, that is one

version of what is wrong. Depends on the consultant you ask). Anyway, I am now

in just as much if not more pain than I was before the op.

Thing is, the other 19 who had this operation returned to work in six weeks and

are no longer in pain. No pain at all it seems. Wish I was one of that lot.

Still, it shows that anyone considering this operation must remember that with

any surgery there are risks and the risks can be reduced if you do your research

properly. You can get more or less 100 per cent relief from the pain.

I wish you well in whatever you try and hope it does not come down to the

operation but if it does, I wish you all the very best and hope it helps to ease

your pain.

All the very best.

Ken.
