Job Title: ART consultant Reports to: Additional Project Director – AP State AIDS Control Society Number of Posts: 1 Post Location: Hyderabad Compensation: Commensurate with experience The primary goal of Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) is to make high-quality treatments for HIV/AIDS more affordable for patients in need in more than 66 countries worldwide. In India, the CHAI team works hand-in-hand with various government agencies to expand access to treatment on the ground, strengthen management capacity, improve procurement and laboratory systems, train healthcare workers and manage initiatives to expand care to particularly marginalized populations, such as children and people living in rural areas. The Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI), India office is seeking the services of highly motivated individuals to fill the position of ART consultant working in SACS. Main Functions: The Primary responsibility of the ART consultant is to provide support to APSACS and the ART centers across the state for effective service delivery. S/he will coordinate with the NACO supported regional ART coordinator for effective delivery of the services. 1. Programmatic and Technical Support • Assess the programmatic and technical capacity and needs of APSACS, ART centers and district health system in delivering the services • Design, develop and provide programmatic and technical support to build the capacity of health system. • Establish learning and support networks for developing excellence in clinical care and services. • Implement appropriate and effective technical support and training strategies in response to programme priorities and emerging good practice. • Develop, collate and disseminate technical resources on clinical care and services, and provide guidance to ART center and district health system to enhance the quality of programmes. 2. Technical leadership • Contribute to the development of the APSACS's technical capacity in HIV/AIDS clinical care • Develop, document and disseminate good practice in clinical care and services, including the integration of treatment, care, support and prevention. • Participate in relevant programme, policy and research activities to inform and guide clinical care and services. Logistic Support • Ensuring supply management of drugs for OIs, ART in collaboration with the other departments. • Monitor the supply and ensure that supply problems are avoided in the delivery of these commodities at the service delivery areas. Person Specification • MBBS degree with master's degree in Medicine or other relevant areas. • At least 4- 5 years' relevant experience in HIV/AIDS. • Experience of working with the government and other key stakeholders in partnership building • At least 3 years' experience of working in multi-disciplinary team. • Demonstrated experience in the design, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects. • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of partnerships and/or donor environment, donor relations and reporting. • Experience of providing technical support to, and capacity building of, organisations. • Very strong analytical skills, and the ability to synthesise complex concepts and to communicate them effectively. • Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently. • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. • Fluent in English and Telugu.
