Guest guest
So, today I have been at my computer all day, and so have been having lots and lots of pain. I woke up at 4:30 this morning and got up 15 minutes later at 4:45. Then, of course, what do I do? Yes, I *immediately* get on my computer. I had hoped I would go to " church " (I use quotations because it's Unitarian Universalist, not Christian), but I decided at the last minute to not go. I should have gone, because it would have gotten me some social time today, some people-interaction time, which I have not had since Thursday except for a short IM conversation with my brother yesterday, and a brief phone conversation with him today. My new housekeeper also did not show up for her first appointment with me at 3 pm today. She had said she would call before she came, but it got to be 1:30 and I still hadn't heard from her, so I called her. She didn't answer, so I left her a message and marked it as " urgent " on her voice mail. It is now 7 pm, and she has not returned my call, nor did she show up today as she was supposed to. So, she is fired before she even got to start, as far as I'm concerned. I have other qualified applicants also interested in the position, whom I have already contacted. The website where I find my help is called www.Care.com, for anyone who is interested. You can get background checks on anyone who applies. It is a great service, but I suppose that even with background checks, you can still get stood up. People have to pay to have their own background checks done, too, in addition to having to pay to be a member. Even people looking for jobs do. So, I don't know why someone would pay to be a member, pay to have a background check done, and commit to doing a job, only to not show up, and not call. I suppose something could have come up that was an emergency, but I doubt it. Anyway, as I said, there are other qualified applicants who have applied. I would rather just have all my bases covered, and hire someone who shows up the first time. Because I don't want this happening routinely. That would NOT be good. Anyway, long rant about that. So, I have been sitting here at my computer all day with no one to talk to, nothing to do. Well, I have sort of had stuff to do. I haven't been *that* bored. I did a lot of research on tutoring jobs, applied for a tutoring job (academic coaching is actually what they call it) at a place near where I live, joined a bunch of tutoring websites, and so on. But my back and neck are killing me. I took my usual half-5mg Lortab this morning (at 5am), and then another whole one at 3pm. I took another half at 5:30 or 6pm. I am going to take yet another half before I go to bed. This is all the pain meds that my doctor (a GP) will give me, and it's supposed to be until I get in to see the pain doctor in mid-October. All I get from my GP is two 5mg Lortabs per day--60 per month. I have to ration them. Take less on a lower pain day, so that I can have more saved up for a higher pain day (like today). Oh well, whatever. It is late, and I need to turn off the computer so that I can get ready for and go to bed. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for reading. e.h. Wow, I hope your doctor will increase your medication that is almost nothing, unless you weigh about 50 pounds. I hope today is better.
