Guest guest
Okay, I'm working on the medical hx for a psych patient. This is what the psy. dictates: " She has had physical therapy last winter for a rotator cuff injury, which improved somewhat, but her hands are locked. She demonstrated that she cannot make a fist and she cannot lay them straight. She has had surgeries in the last ten years to unlock her fingers, but the doctors are unwilling to do any more surgeries. This condition is called Dubedens disease. " The psy. spells out the Dubedens, but I'm really wondering if she does not mean Dupuytren's. I cannot find anything in either my book references or online references for Dubedens. I can't call the psy., she is on vacation until the 21st and I'm taking these reports in to her office manager tomorrow. I have access to the pt's chart, and all that is listed is the pt's self-written medical hx and she spelled it Dubedens disease. I really, really, really think it's Dupuytren's, thought. Anybody else have any other idea? Thanks! Diane * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Guest guest
(((((((())))))))) Welcome! I am sorry to hear about your problem with the doctor. I live in the Eastern part of Pa, so I am not familiar with your area. the suggestion about seeking out a University hospital if there is one near you is an excellent idea. they are usually up on new treatment methods. You have the right to have a voice in your treatment. It took me awhile, but I finally found doctors that listen and feel work with me on my treatment. i have arthitis in my neck and shoulders with muscle pain in my upper back. I also have type 1 diabetes, bipolar-depressed type, chronic migraines/headaches. That is only the major problems, (@@) You can call your local or county medical board who can give you a list of doctor who deal with your type of medical problems. Another thought is to call customer service on your insurance card and they can give you names of doctors. You should also mention to your insurance about the problems you are having with the doctor. they want to know this. If they get alot of complaints many insurances will terminate the contract with that doctor. You could also lodge a complaint with the county medical board. I hope some of this helps you. Hugs, Tami > > I am new to this group. I am 25 years old with deg. disc disease and Fibromyalgia. I have been seeing a doctor in Cambridge Ohio whom I have to get away from. > >
