Guest guest
Bennie, I, too, could not use a TENS unit but my doctor assured me and also the Medtronic representative that this was very different. I listened to them and they were right. The feeling is very different. I am extremely sensitive to touch and that is why I think the TENS just did not work for me. You should not rule out a stimulator based on your experience with a TENS. Now I'm not saying the stimulator is right for me either. I am not jumping up and down about it yet. We will see how today goes. Sorry your pain is so bad. I hope you have a good day. I'm sure this awful heat wave doesn't help. Becky

I might try the trial but I have seen soom real problems at my other Doctor I went to in Houston with people who had bad experiences with spinal stimulator. Everything has some side effects so I am not closing the door on this option but like to see some long term studies on them. I have not found studies beyond ten years. Guest guest
Bennie, Can you share what the long term studies on the stimulator you have read? If you want to send to me email directly you can (heldings@...). I know you said they were only 10 years but I feel like I want to know everything to make an educated decision. Right now I am still leaning towards a no decision as it appears to not be lessening my pain significantly. I am in less pain where it was inserted today but really see no major difference in pain levels. Tomorrow we are expecting a storm so it will be the real test for me as my normal pattern is to have a big spike in pain before a front passes over.
