Hi ,

, it would certainly help, if you not only ask questions but read the

answers (just kidding). Here is a quote from the clostridium difficile article:

>For more severe cases, metronidazole (Flagyl) 250 mg QID

or 500 mg TID for 7 - 10 days is the treatment of choice.<

Thanks for the acidophilus hint. I totally forgot about this one at the ped and

it will be much easier to give Fiona another pill, than to try to feed her

yoghurt.

Jennie, that's exactly what we do at the moment. We apply the ointment several

times a day and the normal diaper cream we use containd zinc oxide. Our ped told

us, that it might have happened for the first time, because Fiona has started to

drink fruit juices and that the combination of the antibiotic together with the

lower ph of her pee-pee is the culprit.

Interestingly we did not find out about the yeast ourselves, because it doesn't

itch and it looks more like an allergic reaction (small red dots) than like the

yeast infections I have had before myself. Any comments from your PhD on that?

Bye-bye

I did, I did! It was just a lot of info. and I didn't remember, sorry. I

was wondering if it was an antibiotic or what, but it sounds like it's an

antifungal or antiyeast?

My dd loves yogurt, but she also loves the chewable acidophilus.

I know you weren't asking me, but we have had *lots* of diaper yeast

infections around here, and this is exactly how they look, with small red

dots.
