Our baby was born on March 24th. Except for the bi-lateral clubfoot

he is a very healthy and happy baby. The clubfoot was found on an

ultrasound at 20 weeks so we were able to do research and felt very

prepared when he was born. This board helped us a great deal.

One foot was diagnosed as mild and other was moderate to severe. We

are seeing Dr Lehman and Scherr at NYU HJD. It's a long trip for us

but the Doctor we saw at Children's Hospital in Boston doesn't use

the Iowa method and only has a 50% success rate without surgery.

He's had 4 weekly casts on the moderate foot (left) and only needed 2

casts on the mild foot. The left foot is progressing very well and Dr

Lehman thinks it may need only one or two more casts. Our visit next

week will coincide with Dr Ponseti's visit to NYU.

Everything is going well so far, except the insurance coverage. We

will be looking foward to all your good advice when we get to the

DBB.

Congratulations on your new baby and welcome to the board. My daughter is

exactly one year older than your son and was treated for unilateral clubfoot

with the ponseti method. She recently took her first steps and looks great.

Let us know how it goes.
