Guest guest
Hello to all- Thank God for this site. I have learned so much in such a short time and have observed so many of my fears and anxieties thru other's experiences. I am down to 25 days to countdown and besides getting a sore throat, cold and 24 hour bug, I am on a seesaw that a 6 year old would kill for. Does this get worse before it gets better? From knots in my stomach - nearing nausea, to tears sometimes well hidden in a small group of people, to excitement, to distress - why cant I be there already - and I am sure so many of you have many experiences you can relay to me that may calm me down. I am sure it will nevver go away completely but as much as I am becoming planned and organized for pre and post op I often feel like this is just a " play " that I get to act out but dont live out so it is still not real. Am I making any sense? Any calming or reassuring thoughts or memories will be very very appreciated. Thanks Mia Patrice
Guest guest
, Let me assure you that you are not the only one who feels this way! I have to tell you that I was "on the fence" so to speak right up until a few days before my surgery even though I knew it was the best thing for me to do. It was for me the first thing I though of when waking up and the last thing before going to sleep! I think I was starting to drive my dh crazy! LOL I am two weeks post op as of yesterday and I am feeling pretty good. Everyday gets better and better! I think that the pre surgery anxiety that we feel is the worst part. Of course there are tough days in the two weeks following the surgery but compared to the anxiety that you feel before it really isn't too bad. What helped me a lot was having a positive attitude. (Even when I didn't feel so positive) The other thing that happened to me was the day before the surgery I was very calm. All the anxiety (well most of it!) went away. Hang in there you will do fine. We are all here for ya! Take care!
