Guest guest
Hi Becky. I had mine done on Feb. 22. It really only lasted about 1.5 hours. The sitting, taking a LONG quiz took the most time for me. I was very slow, so plan on taking a break or two. Tell the doc before you start. It is one of those tests that ask you the same question in about 5 different ways. Asks about hearing voices too! (not kidding, I started laughing while taking it.) It is surely NOT an IQ test. When the doctor is talking to you, he asks about any drug-alcohol history, and tries to find out if you have support at home etc. I told the guy that my family is getting less and less supporting, because I am financially ruining my family, and what could he say..he is part of that too..lol He also asked about your expectations for pain relief etc...I told him I just simply wanted to be able to take a walk and go shopping without needing a cart to lean on.(I need a cart EVERY trip, even if it is just to get a pack of gum..ugh) Have you gone to the education classes yet? I am scheduled for April 13th for those. Also..do you know of any good websites for the stimulator? I can find diagrams of the stimulator, but no actual PHOTOS of someone with the unit. I am still also waiting on approval from the insurance company.I have United healthcare. Did your approval take a long time? S************* > Becky wrote > Just got a call setting up my psychological testing for the neuro stimulator. I know someone in this group just recently did this. Please, please can you let me know how it went?
