Lack of sleep, for any reason can increase fibromyalgia pain. Many times a sleep study is helps diagnosis and treat any sleep problems. I highly recommend one. It is surprising how many people have some kind of sleep disorder. In many cases low oxygen levels during the night cause us to wake up for mere seconds and we don't even know it. My daughter uses a C-pap machine and has been amazed how it has helped her. She only needs a teeny little mask the covers her nose. Many times masks that cover the mouth and nose can be uncomfortable. Trazadone, is very cheap and is on the $4 monthly rate at Walmart. I'm believe it's on the pharmacy program at most pharmacies and big box stores. That certainly beats the hideous prices of Lyrica, Savella, etc. Ibuprofen, helps me also. I take Lyrica for nerve damage, but find that it does not decrease the fibromyalgia pain. Gentle, exercises especially in warm water help too. Many folks do very gentle stretching exercises first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. A nice memory foam mattress topper that is at least 2 " thick helps too. We have a generic 1 1/2 " one that I wish was thicker. There are other toppers that help too, you don't need to buy an expensive mattress. If the topper becomes stained, or worn out, it is easier to to change it. If you buy one, be sure it's from a store that will refund any product, then you won't be stuck with something you don't want. Chanting is mentally, " don't think, don't think, " while heading for a hot soak in the bath tub each morning helped me begin the day, especially when I was working. I hope this helps.
