Chennai: IDU services suffer due to non dispersal of funds

Dear Forum

Warm Greetings,

We are a Community based organization working for the cause of Drug Addicts &

IDU's in Chennai District.

We would like to bring it to your notice that we have been Referring IDU

Positive clients to Freedom- Foundation-Chennai a Community Care Center

supported by Chennai AIDS Prevention & Control Society since 2005.

But of late they have limited the service,reason being they have not received

Grant for the Year 2008-2009. Due to this community people are suffering a lot.

No other ccc or the service available to the PLHAs. This is also a way of

creating stigma and discrimination towards the community. some of the IDU

community working in ccc in chennai at freedom Foundation started feeling the

insecure and left out due to the ignorance of Capacs this may may happen to any

one.

Please address this concern and I request Chennai AIDS Prevention & Control

Society to look into the matter so that the services are available for PLHA's.
