Guest guest
They can do a nuclear kidney scan. I've had two. My kidney failed and they tried a stent to allow it to heal but it didn't. Jennette Lori wrote: >Hi. Guest guest
The can do a blood test to see how well your liver and kidneys are functioning. I get it done every 6 months because of all the meds I take. Lori wrote: Is there a test I can request that will assure my kidneys are functioning? Guest guest
Yes, but you have to start in steps with the medical community. Doctors won't order other tests unless your liver and kidney blood results show something off. Good Luck I wish you the best and hope this helps. A urologist will do a profile of tests to include ultrasounds, if that does not show MRI or CT scans, plus the lab tests. A referral to a urologist who knows what they are doing is essential. There are 24 hour urine tests, lab profiles etc. I had a kidney cyst that had doubled in size and blocking and placing pressure on my spine. It showed up on ultrasounds, they did a kidney function injection and took more ultrasound pictures to see how long it took for my kidneys to drain the fluid to bladder. Regular kidney x-rays are called IVP, Intravenous Pylegram and takes pictures of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder and how long it takes to excrete the injection to rule out cysts and other problems. It would be up to the doctor of internal medicine. There are liver and kidney scans with injections that do this. Bennie.
Guest guest
Your kidney functioning can also be accessed through an urine testing. > > The can do a blood test to see how well your liver and kidneys are > > functioning.
