Guest guest
Moderator's note: Eight regular Tylenol (acetaminophen)is 325mg. So 8 doses would total 2,600mg a day. I probably know more about taking Tylenol than the average person as I had a liver transplant so my Tylenol dosage has been up and down over the years. With a decently functioning liver, even with a lot of other meds my doctor allows me 8 regular Tylenol a day. That's a lot, folks, but he says it's safer than a lot of things. That's from a liver transplant doctor. I was just saying today, I'd rather they took away my opiates than my Tylenol. Well, I'd rather they didn't take away anything but you get my point. Can't live without it and the opiates don't seem to work as well without it. Carolyn Eddy " Sweet Goat Mama "
Guest guest
There are a lot of meds worse than Tylenol, but long-term use is not 100% safe and definitely not as safe for the liver, as opioids. Steve M in PA

I can tell the difference when I asked for the break thru without Tylenol but can add if I need. I agree with you. Just so people get their labs checked and mine have been normal. Guest guest
Yeah,m, I have labs done monthly for my liver anyway so he says he'll know if anything is going haywire. I just thought it was interesting what a healthy liver can do. But even before the transplant I was allowed 4 per day.
