Guest guest
Hi, Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm significantly less stressed, feeling lots better already after starting the Zithromax last night, got a decent night's sleep, and am back to my resiliant and perky self (though still very short-tempered with small humans because of the Prednisone-- only one more day to go!). I cleaned/organized the mess that was my kitchen counter today :-) I made all the referal calls (and was irritated to find out that Kailin's pulmonary referal for her upcoming apt. still wasn't done though this is the third week in a row I've called about it-- grrrr, HMO's). I figured out how to get reimbursed for my after-hours Walgreens prescription last night (and at least they HAD done my allergist referal, so the prescription will be covered). I put all the kids misc. medical notes in order in their looseleaf folders. I can now see countertop again (hey, I even cleaned up the donut crumbs). I talked to the peds pulm nurse, and she says she's never seen anyone have joint pain from Cipro more than a couple of weeks after discontinuing it, and she really thinks M's wrist and R. shoulder pain is unrelated where it's been many weeks since M. stopped taking the Cipro. She also said that it's usually the knees that are affected when kids react to Cipro (Meagan had sore knees, a sore ankle, and the sore wrist and shoulder-- most of it went away within a couple days of stopping Cipro.) Meagan has an appointment at 3 p.m. today for the sore wrist/shoulder, so hopefully we'll get that sorted out. The pulm. nurse is also calling in a Zithromax prescription for Meagan to keep her on it until we see our new pulm. on Aug. 10th, so she'll be covered to keep treating the sinus stuff and give the ears a chance to drain, and have a bit of protection if she gets the current family virus. I think " the big baby " (okay, I shouldn't call him that, because he's been WONDERFUL taking care of me and the kiddos while I've been sick, but none-the-less...) is coming down with whatever virus set off all my asthma junk. The problem is that he hasn't exactly learned his lesson about taking all three his asthma inhalers on a twice-daily basis, and with him starting to cough, I've been handing out " take your meds " reminders like he's a third child. I can't do another week with him on Prednisone at the moment (LOL). Meagan was really fussy this morning, but so far no other signs of her coming down with this thing. I'm still really hoping that either this is something they've already had this summer, or it's really a milder bug than it seemed like to me, and was just hugely aggravated by allergic asthma factors. Hey, I even weighed less than I'd expected at my doctors apt. today, so I came home and treated myself to another piece of Lemon Meringue pie :-) bye, , mom of Meagan 5 (cf, asthma) and Kailin 7 (asthma)
