Guest guest
Rose, Hi, I am a new member of Mito One List. I have a great-grandaughter who is a little over 2 now. She was diagnosed with hypotonia when she was 8and a half months old. After taking her to Iowa City they determined she had mitochondrial myopathy, secondary to partial deficiency of NADH dehydrogenase or complex I. She has had a muscle biopsy done and has had physical therapy for about a year now. She finally was able to walk when she turned 2 but still has alot of balance problems. They had her on the Vitamins A,D,E, and K, Carnitor and coenzyme Q. She had a lot of problems with diarhea with it so we took her off it. That's been about a year ago. They are asking us to consider putting her back on it as a safeguard. I would like to know if anyone else has had that problem and would you recommend her going back on it. She seems to be doing pretty good, otherwise. I take care her usually 3 or 4 days a weed while her mom works. She is also a single mom. Any information would be appreciated .
