Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I just found your group and am hoping to find some help. I have been in chronic, severe pain for almost 6 years now. It all started after I had gastric bypass surgery. The surgery worked, I lost over 150 lbs. That is the only good thing that came from it. During the surgery, the doctor damaged the nerves in my upper back on the left side around the bra area. As soon as I woke up, I knew there was something wrong! They just kept saying, " Oh you just had surgery " " Oh you area losing weight and your body is shifting " and so on. Well, it wasn't any of those things! I have had every test done from GI testing to MRI, bone scans and even another surgery for my surgeon to see if anything was wrong. I have been on all kinds of pain meds and nothing takes the pain away, it is always there 24/7, it's like a gnawing that is horrible! I have had epidural injections, a dorsal column stimulator put in and removed and I just had Radio frequency done on Saturday and now I am in more pain than ever!! I am wishing for the old pain now. Has anyone had this happen? I am on Fentanyl Patches 100mcg and Percocet 3 times a day. We have tried different combinations of the patches and pills. I have tried Morphine and I am just looking for other alternatives. Because of the gastric bypass, I can't take extended release medications because they go right through. Every month my pain doc asks if I want to change anything but I am so afraid of being in more pain that I leave things the way they are. Sound familiar to anyone? I am only 41 years old and have been on permanent disability for 5 years now. I spend most of my day lying down because that is the best position with the best relief. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to say hi and tell you all my story. I am hoping to gain some info from you all. Thank you for any help or suggestions. ~
