On behalf of Washington County EMS, EMS Association of Texas Board and it's

members we wish to express our condolences to Gene's family, friends, past

co-workers, and the EMS community in general.

Sincerely,

Executive Director

Washington County EMS

EMSAT President

Gene Weatherall

We were deeply saddened to learn that Gene Weatherall passed away on

Saturday, May 11, due to complications from cancer. Gene served as the Chief

of the Bureau of Emergency Management for 14 years before retiring in 1999

and moving to Arkansas to be near family.

We will send out another message when we know the funeral arrangements.

I am saddened to hear this. Gene was my Lead Instructor when I went to

the UTHSC Houston Paramedic Course in 1979. I always thought he was a

pretty good guy... able to make us thick headed firefighters and stray

mutts (like me) understand what we were about to undertake.

Gentle Winds and a Calm Sea, Gene...

For myself, and the entire membership of North Blanco County EMS, I wish to

express our deepest condolences and prayers of comfort for his family and

friends.

Gene was, and will always remain, one of the best of Texas EMS. He was a true

pioneer.

Gene will be well remembered and truly missed by his friends and colleagues, and

also by the entire EMS community.

Rest well, Gene.
