Guest guest
My doctor (PCP) is very cautious. I suggested Diludid for my migraines because my neurologist did. And giving methadone is just too much for her to prescribe. (I think she is afraid the DEA will come after her for it) For back pain she sent me in for physical therapy and I found out that my hips were not in alignment. I just went to pool therapy this afternoon and it went okay. I guess I will see how much I worked out by how I feel in the morning. The pain doctor I did go to did prescribe methadone for me and the right doseage but due to me not able to take them during the day if I had to pick up my kids from school or something. I couldn't take them as they were prescribed and with his contract they would count pills when we go in for the next appt. I don't know if I was lucky or not. I saw and had a copy of the contract but never signed one. He was a good 45miles away from meand any of the other pain places around here only do injections. A friend and I had one doctor that was I think more holistic (sp) He saw my friend. Took one look at my File folder and sent me a letter that he couldn't treat me. I was so PO'd. And wanted to write him a negative letter telling him that I could tell 10 people about him, etc. I still want to! The only time I got told about side effects with medicines was when I was diagnosed with brain cancer (benign) and the radiation and chemo (and that was thru the nurses that were treating me) I went thru my PCP doctor upped my narcotics or another doctor got ahold of my asking for pain meds and I got more then. And with chemo we have to take softeners and senna to help go and that has carried into me taking narcotics, it helped anyways. The friend that was with me she ended up taking suppositories and all I wanted to tell her was about the pills I took to help me. Of course, I could always try to eat more fiber but my digestive track has always been sluggish even as a baby. And now that I kept throwing up when on chemo, the GI docs told me that my stomach doesn't empty all they way. I have to go back to talk to them about how to fix that but it is I think due to all the sickness I went thru. G/N. They are so scared of chronic pain patients that even with a contract they rarely give adequate pain meds.
