We used it for Headaches in Caitlin for many years. I was told that one of the advantages of this drug was the help with pain in general. Caitlin never really verbalized neuropathic pain, although we do know that she has a severe neuropathy, so I can't really tell you if it helped that or not. It did work in conjuction with a few other drugs for headaches. It also helps with sleep if taken at bedtime, but can also make you drousy at first, when taken during the day. Guest guest
I took elavil for a few years to cover migraines. If I remember correctly, I also had increased saliva while on it. I remember my dentist making a note of it in my chart. I do know that it can cause you to retain fluid because of the type of drug it is and that would make sense with regard to the excess saliva.
