Guest guest
Hi All (apology in advance for the long email), I just took out 5 bags of trash from my apartment to the dumpster (down the 16 steps in my building, plus walking another 400 ft or so, then back to my apartment) and vacuumed all 702 square feet--BY MYSELF. I have 4 more bags of trash to take out, but it is now raining, so I will wait on that. It just accumulates because it hurts my back to take it out to the dumpster. And vacuuming KILLS me. But I HAD to do it, because it HAD to be done, and I don't have someone to come do it for me right now because she is in the process of moving out of town. I am in the process of finding someone new, but haven't been able to respond to applicants to the job posting yet on the website where I found my first housekeeper. This is because my subscription to the website expired because I had my account scheduled to downgrade to the free one, because I thought that I would have found someone new before the downgrade was scheduled to take place. But I didn't find someone new in time. Now I have to pay another $35 to get another month's subscription so that I can reply to the applicants. My sacral base is KILLING me, and so is my neck. But it's the sacral base that hurts the most when I do heavy lifting (e.g., taking out trash and vacuuming). My head hurts too. I've had this darn headache for 3 days now and I can't seem to get rid of it. I've tried my migraine medicine, and I've tried aspirin, and the Lortabs of course are not touching it. I think I am going to call my neurologist tomorrow to ask him for something additional to see if that will help. Every time I seem to get rid of the headache, it just comes right back. The bathroom still needs to be cleaned. It is so disgusting because it hasn't been cleaned in 5 weeks because I have been too busy/too reluctant to have my housekeeper come over. I would do it now, except I am in so much pain from vacuuming that I can barely stand, and barely walk. I really, REALLY wanted to have a clean apartment before school starts tomorrow, so that I have a clean environment in which to study. Well, at least the carpet is vacuumed, and most of the floors are covered in carpet. Everything besides the bathroom looks great, so that is a plus. The kitchen floor needs to be swept and mopped, and the stovetop and sink need to be cleaned--but those aren't too bad, so it's not depressing to look at them--at least, not quite. The main things that needed to be done were taking out the trash (I got 5 out of 9 bags--that's over half, so I'm very pleased); vacuuming, which is DONE, so I'm VERY pleased about that; and cleaning the bathroom, which I was unable to do. So, I got 2-1/2 out of 3 things done. I also took a shower today, which was also on my to-do list. I also have been needing to study for a math evaluation to get a mentoring/tutoring job on campus, which I did a little of on Thursday; I also have been needing to study for my two classes that start tomorrow and Tuesday, which I sort-of got a little bit of done; and I have been needing to do research for a research project I am working on, of which I got a LOT done. So, I suppose, overall I have done pretty well at meeting my goals for what I wanted to do before school starts tomorrow. Overall, pretty well. I should be pleased...and I am, for the most part. I am just in so much darn pain right now that it is difficult to see the upside to all this. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I really needed to get this out about being in so much pain from cleaning. I hope I can get some gentle hugs in response. Thanks for reading, and sorry again for the long email, e.h.
