Moderator Note: Thanks Al! It didn't even occur to me that some people might

take their shoes off before measuring for their main cane, but people do strange

things all the time. It's likely happend frequently. I'll make that change to

the file promptly. Lyndi

---------------------

1. Make the measurement with your shoes on!

An inch of heel will change how the cane works for you. If you wear a lot of

different heights (barefooting!, sneakers, low to high heels), then you might

want more than one cane.

2. The purpose of a cane is to help maintain balance. It is not a crutch. I

make custom canes. When someone asks for a 40 inch cane, I always ask how tall

they are and for what purpose they need the cane. Some people like a cane for

sTyLe. While some really want a walking stick or staff. It is good to decide

what you need.

3. For an adult male, the measurement is likely 36 inches.

(Moderator note: (again) if you are interested in Al's lovely custom canes,

please email him at the address on this email) I'd love to post his link, but we

have advertising rules that apply - even when it comes to canes. Lyndi (with an

adjustable height folding cane)
