I had my knee replaced on Sept 27 and am still having a hard time. I did well

enough to be released from the hospital and therefore was let go last Saturday.

I decided not to go to rehab and instead went to my Dad's house (bathroom on

same floor as bedroom). At first it was going OK, but I never felt complete pain

relief.

After a week or so my phys therapy and visiting nurse called my surgeon and

suggested I go on Oxycontin with oxycodone for breakthrough pain. my husband

went over to pick up the new scripts hilarity ensues. When I finally have the

scripts there's some pain relief. but not all relief.

I've been hanging in there but I don't know what to do. I'm taking oxycodone for

breakthrough pain, Tylenol and a wee bit of ativan to calm me down.

now I need to talk to my surgeon about an alternative. I'd be amenable to going

back to my previous oxycodone dose but I have a hard time thinking my doc will

think this is anything by drug seeking :( sigh... another painful night me

thinks.
