Guest guest
Hey Dave- Good to see you here. I kind of agree with you... but I also kind of don't, entirely. Treating something as sacred is basically a way to protect and preserve it, but without a full understanding of exactly what it is that's being protected and why, it's a very imperfect protection at best. We need a scientific understanding of how all this works in order to assure that the values which led to something being considered sacred in the first place aren't inadvertently lost even while tradition is maintained. - > i would like to see a change in focus early in the debate. change > the focus or discussion > from clo good/bad to industrialization of our sacred foods as good > or bad. Guest guest
What do you think of Carlson's cod liver oil? From: timjohan1 <timjohan1@...> Subject: Re: Mercola Turns Against Cod Liver Oi Date: Thursday, December 11, 2008, 6:38 AM I've posted quite a few comments on Mercola's blog concerning my belief that he is wrong on this topic, and he has deleted all of them. I have lost any remnants of respect that I once had for him. Mercola is a man with an agenda, and truth is not his primary objective. Guest guest
Mercola's blog is HEAVILY censored. pretty much anything that doesn't correspond to his party line is deleted. Occasionally a complaint about this appears, but my bet is that they try to delete everything. I believe that he is primarily about profits. I don't trust him at all. > > > From: timjohan1 <timjohan1@...> > Subject: Re: Mercola Turns Against Cod Liver Oi > > Date: Thursday, December 11, 2008, 6:38 AM > > > > I've posted quite a few comments on Mercola's blog concerning my > > belief that he is wrong on this topic, and he has deleted all of them. > > I have lost any remnants of respect that I once had for him. Guest guest
I've gotten on his case in the past for irresponsibly claiming that all artificial sweeteners are worse for you than sugar, even if someone's a diabetic. Of course, that kind of thing is ignored. He also went on a rampage about the suggestion that boys should be vaccinated against HPV. Where does he think women catch it, magic virus fairies? I know the issues surrounding vaccination, and I totally support the right of a parent to refuse vaccination for their kids, but for those of us who live in crowded areas and who aren't willing to take the risk, I don't appreciate being called a dummy by someone who's got a few dumb arguments of his own. *shrug* This is why I do my own reading. If I see enough people recommending something and they don't all have an obvious agenda that seems harmful to me, I'm more likely to accept it. timjohan1 wrote: > I've posted quite a few comments on Mercola's blog concerning my > belief that he is wrong on this topic, and he has deleted all of them. > I have lost any remnants of respect that I once had for him. Guest guest
Tom, I've read what some companies do is isolate the natural A and D, and then add the same natural A and D back to the original oil in set amounts so they can control the ratio. -Lana " There is nothing more useful than sun and salt. Hi , Neither Green Pastures' nor Dr. Ron's HVCLO contains synthetic vitamins. Dr. Ron's CLO IS the Green Pasture's CLO, just has a different label. Same for Dr. Ron's fermented CLO. From what I have been told, there is still a relatively large supply of the Blue Ice HVCLO without the synthetic vitamins. Only when this supply is gone, will Dave and Dr. Ron and those of us who sell their CLO stop selling this product. So you can be sure that Blue Ice brand (whether Green Pasture or Dr. Ron's) will continue to only provide CLO that contains natural vitamins A and D, unless Dave changes his mind one day to do it differently. I suspect though, that this will be when hell freezes over :-) Suze
Guest guest
I use Green Pastures fermented CLO but am wondering about the oxidation of the oil during processing. I've heard that all oil oxidizes quickly and create volatile compounds. Also, the label says it 'is tested to international purity standards'. Okay, but does it meet these standards?
