I used to love going barefoot when I was a teen, though I don't recall ever running barefoot, except in sand at the beach. During my first year or two in college, I walked around campus barefoot sometimes. I found that asphalt can get pretty hot in Texas, but my feet got pretty tough. Lately, I have had trouble with my left knee when " jogging " , and landing on my heels could very well be the culprit. Ken Saxton is only about 3 years younger than me, so if he can do it I can do it

I'm not landing on my heels when I run, I'm landing on the soles. However, I noticed that my fast walk is *not* " barefoot " style, I was landing on my heels while walking fast. So, I switched to a shorter stride, but at a faster pace for walking. With the shorter stride, I can manage the " barefoot " style, but I'll have to watch out for a while until I get used to the new walking style. It's probably my walking style that was causing problems! So, I still owe you a beer

I got to work with an instructor and it's amazing - well you know, how the little form things make a difference. C >
