That is a tough time of the year to be on any kind of liquid fast combined with all day outdoor exercise regimen when you are battling the weather. Firstly, it may be only the time that fits with his schedule. Secondly, he's riding across the South and Southwest, so it's not much of a winter he's going to deal with. And really, those states would be brutal to bike through in the heat of summer (especially the deep south with the humidity). Aerobic activity in cold weather is actually highly enjoyable if you dress properly. I bike and ski all winter long (here in Wisconsin) and just love it! Good point about the lower nutritional quality of winter milk, though. But I think he's mainly trying to raise awareness, rather than drink the best milk. I didn't have in mind just summer, more like spring or early fall. At any rate, changing his route would be a good idea if he was biking during the summer. > Aerobic activity in cold weather is actually > highly enjoyable if you dress properly. Summer/spring liquid fasts are a breeze comparatively speaking. I don't know how he is breaking down the trip but I'm taking for granted that he will be biking during most of the daylight hours. > Good point about the lower nutritional quality of winter milk, though. > But I think he's mainly trying to raise awareness, rather than drink > the best milk. I was thinking more in terms of his personal health since he is drinking only winter milk and engaging most of the day in an activity to which apparently he is not accustomed. -- In the religious perspective, none of us " owns " his own body. Guest guest
It doesn't say that he is doing a liquid milk fast. It says " while eating and thriving exclusively on RAW DAIRY. " That could mean milk, cream, cheese, butter, etc. In the winter, I eat butter and cheese that was made in the spring/summer so that I get the extra nutrition. > > Without any formal cycle training, Max Kane, > > founder of the Chicago-based private food club Belleslunchbox.com > > and creator of the TheRawMilkParty.com website, will be riding a 40 > > day and 40 night bike-a-thon from coast to coast across the U.S. > > while eating and thriving exclusively on RAW DAIRY. Guest guest
Winter milk in the south would be different than winter milk in the north where I am. Here in Wis. the cows are inside a lot with no fresh grass whereas in the south, they can still be outside. > > > > Firstly, it may be only the time that fits with his schedule. > > Secondly, he's riding across the South and Southwest, so it's not much > > of a winter he's going to deal with. > > I was thinking more in terms of his personal health since he is > drinking only winter milk and engaging most of the day in an activity > to which apparently he is not accustomed. > >

Yes that is what it says at the beginning, but further down it suggests that he will only be consuming raw milk. -- In the religious perspective, none of us " owns " his own body. IIRC, I think Price was pointing out that the nutritional quality of the grass was different in the winter as opposed to spring. So I'm not sure it is just a question of being outside. -- In the religious perspective, none of us " owns " his own body. Guest guest
I emailed the coordinator of publicity for this event. She is also a WAPF chapter leader in IL. below is her response. Hi Carolyn, Max will be consuming all forms of dairy on the ride. His favorites are butter, cream and cheese. THANKS SO MUCH for helping to spread the word!!!! Max will be launching tomorrow. We are really hoping to gain more and more media coverage as the rides progress. If you know of anyone in the Los Angeles area (he will be concluding in Malibu, CA) that could help in any way with some coverage or media attendance that conclusion party, that would be great too. Thanks again, Sherrin P.S. Please don't hesistate to call me at 630-514-7743 if you have something that you need a quick response to. http://therawmilkparty.com/ -------------- Original message -------------- From: Carolyn Graff <zgraff@...> > will Max be consuming raw milk only or will he be eating other dairy > products also? this question came up on Native Nutrition when I > posted the press release there. > > Carolyn, > > > It doesn't say that he is doing a liquid milk fast.
