Hi everybody,

The trip to Iowa was wonderful, we not only get to see Dr. Ponseti

but also met Sara Masoner, Ivy and her brother. Isn't that amazing?

Ivy and Simon Andres were born in the same clinic (Urbana, IL), were

treated by the same Dr. at the very beginning and finally treated by

Dr. Ponseti. We don't leave in Champaign-Urbana anymore so that was a

great coincidence that we ran into each other in Dr. Ponseti's office.

Dr. Ponseti was very pleased with Simon Andres' foot. He said it

looks great, thanks God Simon Andres was very cooperative and let Dr.

Ponseti manipulate and feel his foot as he wanted. He also saw him

walking (with me holding his hands) and said he looks great. We are

SO happy; Simon Andres now has to wear the brace from 14 to 16 hours.

On the way back to Iowa we stopped at a restaurant and sat him on

those high chairs for babies were Simon Andres was never able to sit

because of the bar. Not that it bothered us, but it was nice. Later

that day we also took him to the grocery store and put him in the

cart, it was a totally new experience for him (and for us) and he

seemed to enjoy it very much.

I was SO happy there at the office that I forgot to ask Dr. Ponseti

what shoes are good to start walking. Please help… what shoes did

your little ones wear when they started to walk? I have heard

about " Stride Riter " and went to the store. They are SO expensive,

but if they are the best I'll go for it I just have no idea if they

are worth to pay the price. As always, I would GREATLY appreciate

your responses.

We also got to see the beautiful quilt and took pictures; I'll

probably post them tomorrow.
