Guest guest
Hi, All; I'm 65. Got a " bad " back. I've been disabled for 10 years. I was initially started on a course of narcotics for the pain. But the narcs didn't really do much for the pain. So every time I saw my doc, the amount of narcs got increased. It got to the point where I was on very heavy duty narcs. They dulled the pain, but totally wiped me out. I was so stoned, I didn't care about the pain. Unfortunately, you can't lead a normal life when you're too stoned to get up out of the chair. At my insistence, I'm not now on narcs for pain relief. What I'm on now, does somewhat help me, I still have a good deal of pain, but I'm alert and can remember my own name. I think you know I'm not out there chopping wood or climbing mountains. I mostly watch " Law & Order " . Yet, there are some of us pain sufferers, who get significant relief from narcs. I wish I was one of them. Are there others in the group, who feel that narcs don't relieve their pain? Or that the side effects of the narcs outweigh the pain relief? Thanks.
