Guest guest
Hi Suze, I clicked on the technology page and noticed " nanometer sterilization " in the ecoloblue diagram. This article from the ETC Group alerted me to the problems with nano technology: www.etcgroup.org/upload/publication/116/01/gt_troubledwater_april1.pdf Food and cosmetics companies are both using nanotechnology (e.g. Soup, ConAgra, General Mills, H. J. Heinz, Kraft Foods, McCain Foods, Nestli, PepsiCo, Sara Lee and Unilever). See: http:// www.voyle.net/Nano%20Debate/Debate2004-0012.htm Mellencamp's wife Elaine is a model/spokeperson for Almay and she applies their " smart " foundation with nano particles on her face in their television ad. I sent her a copy of the ETC Group article. Ecoloblue also needs to reveal what they use to disinfect their carbon filter. It's most likely clorox (Hulda says clorox is linked to cancer; see: The Cure and Prevention of All Cancers, 2007). At some point, it's possible that water filter companies would be open to research on nanotechnology and clorox. The unit has a filtering system including some sort of sterilization, RO and UV. What might the drawbacks be? I'm looking for a water filter for my folks and this seems like a better idea than a water filter. Thoughts? Suze Fisher " Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight. Guest guest
I have checked into these products because my nephew is working with a company that is beginning a similar business. From what I understand, there is sometimes an off taste because of the metal pipes the water comes in contact with. To me, the biggest drawback is that it gives you water similar to a distiller - it is dead (without minerals that ground water would have in it). Upside? It will have no fluoride or chlorine. Just my two cents worth.
