Hi

That was extremely helpful.  Thanks.  Do you know of a filter that removes all

of the chlorine?

Filter?

It is the only brand Whole Foods has and I was wondering if it is

worth the price, $45.00.

I have the enviro shower filter-it removes half of the chlorie in

water-see the amazon review and link below. I'm looking for one that

filters out more chlorine-maybe the Dr. H KDF shower filter?

we would have to test the amount of chlorine removed and not go by

what the companies say.

" I received my Enviro shower filter a few days ago. Interesting to

see so many glowing reviews here about this product. I wonder how

many have actually tested it.

I did. I used a Hach colorimeter to accomplish this.

I first tested my unfiltered sink water and got 1.02 mg/l of total

chlorine. Then I tested my 3-stage undersink filter water and got .01

mg/l of total chlorine. I finally tested the shower water with the

Enviro filter installed and got .55 mg/l on the colorimeter. The test

was done on the third day of use of the filter, and the sample was

taken at room temperature after letting the shower run for a few

minutes.

This filter does appear to remove about half the chlorine (1.02

to .55 mg/l in my test), but I still have it's package which clearly

states " ..a year of natural CHLORINE-FREE shower water... " on the

front.

That is clearly not correct!! I intend to contact them about this.

I've tested other shower filters and they all mislead..not one

removes 100% of chlorine, and some none. "

I've got the idea that *hot water* is the problem, as far as the

filters not being able to remove more chlorine. I bought a whole-house

water filter that would take care of more chlorine while the water is

cold (haven't looked at it lately; it might remove 99% or so?),but

can't figure out which pipe to put it on, even if I dug up the yard to

see where the main one was coming in...
