I was surprised that your first recommendation for heart health was checking iodine and thyroid status. Guess I'll have to read Dr. Brownstein's books because I wasn't aware of a strong connection between hypothyroid and CVD. Tom

I could have been a little more prepared but it was kind of short notice. I totally forgot to mention how in the cholesterol-fed rabbit model iodine and thyroid hormone prevented atherosclerosis. Brownstein has an interesting case study about his father on his web site regarding that connection. Chris

I didn't get a chance to listen to the interview but I would also recommend Broda , _Solved: The Riddle of Heart Attacks - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=0913730270/brodaobarnesmdreA/ Spendy, older yet still timely research, and most important has LOTS of clinical experience actually helping people with thyroid issues. Master Broda rocks! -- It doesn't matter how many people don't get it. What matters is how many people do. If you have a strong informed opinion, don't keep it to yourself. Try and help people and make the world a better place. If you strive to do anything remotely interesting, just expect a small percentage of the population to always find a way to take it personally. F*ck 'em. There are no statues erected to critics. - Ferriss
Guest guest
In Dr. Waldbott's book " Fluoridation: The Great Dilemma " he mentioned that fluoride was found in incredibly high amounts in the human heart and believed it was displacing iodine which had a role in preventing atheriosclerosis. > > Tom, > > > I listened to the whole thing and thought you did a great job > > distilling the important points for a lay audience. I think fluoride in the thyroid would be more plausibly connected to atherosclerosis than fluoride in the heart, but both might be an issue. Guest guest
I wasn't either. It motivates me want to eat my sea veggies and seafoods even more.
