I don't know the answer, but if you find out, please post it here. I've been

getting grouply emails too and I also got one email that said grouply wasn't a

good idea and there was something said about security problems, but I'd have to

spend a lot of time trying to figure out why. So, again, if you find out please

let me (and others of course) know what's up.

Go into your message rules and have all things for Grouply

along with Zac deleted at the server then you

will never see them.

If not using a POP and actually go to gmail then make

several filters such as subject, name of person and so

on having them deleted at the server. Gmail walks

you thorough this step by step.

Makes life much more pleasant.

Have you asked yourself why the sudden rise in similar spam?

Every Indian group I am in (EXCEPT! the ones who do not allow grouply)

will all get the same spam in the same hour.

" I have added you as a friend in .... "

or

" Come see my web cam ... "

DOES NOT ALLOW crossposting OR multiple postings of the same

message to different groups at the same time, per their own Terms of

Service. When you try it you get those weird pages where you have to

type in the words in the little picture in order to send email.

I encountered it a couple of years ago when several people I know were

having birthdays at the same time. I sent them all the same thing

" Happy birthday. " But I sent it to each of them individually. 's

server thought I was sending spam, so for the following couple of

weeks, every time I sent an email it had to be verified. Painful, but

I finally figured out what caused it and wrote to , complaining.

It stopped immediately. But they had to verify I wasn't trying to spam.

So when you get the same exact message delivered to 50 different

Indian groups at the same time, then it has to be coming from an

outside source.

Grouply is the one who gathers all of the email addresses that these

spammers are using to enter our groups.

Grouply itself will say they are not spamming. That " may " be true. But

their members are using the grouply ability to harvest email

addresses, as well as the fact that ALL of the messages in your group

are reposted onto grouply's web site. This means that if you ask a

question, or post a reply, or just carry on a conversation with anyone

in your group it will end up on grouply if even one person in your

group is on grouply.

Grouply has stated on their web site that they will sue anyone who

says bad things about them.

Hey grouply member (you know who you are), bring it on! My lawyer gets

bored and needs to exercise.
