Prialt (Ziconotide), a new drug my doctor wants me to try.

My pain management doctor has given me some information on this new drug called

Prialt or Ziconotide for intrathecal infusion. It comes from the venum of a sea

snail and has been tested in patients one of which has been on it for 7 1/2

years but it was approved by the FDA

in 2004.

My family and I have done some research on it and are running scared from the

side effects that are listed with this drug. It sounds like a miracle drug in

the beginning because it blocks the pain signal from getting to the brain. Which

we who suffer from chronic pain would love to have happen.

If there is anyone in this group is on this medication or knows about it I would

love to hear you experience. So far from what I've read I'm scared to try this

stuff. But there are some that have been helped by it I would appreciate hearing

from you.
