on it or do lot walking. My doctor put me on two nerve medicine one for

Sue,

Did you get the pins taken out ? They took my pins out and it helped me a

lot.The nerve or anti-seizure medicine (Neurotin) will cause tremors as a side

effect.

Did you wear a ortho shoe, I know it is six weeks out but it might help. I did

get some nerve pain as the nerve endings were growing back together, I had a

bi-lateral (both feet)

bunionectomy and they broke my toes and had to straighten them with pins,

somewhat like what you described.

I think it will take some time but when I got my pins out, I felt much better. I

sure would ask him to do some type of test (MRI or CT) to see what the nerves

are doing or if

something is being entrapped.

Good Luck and let us know what you find out.

Bennie

  • 1 month later...

I had surgery on my right foot a year ago...I wore a " boot " for

almost 3 months.  I also had a pin in the end of my second toe which was there

for 2 two months...very painful. I have found that if I

keep rubbing Vitamin E oil (28,000 iu) daily on the scar, this helps.

The only thing I would have done differently is INSIST on some PT.

I wore good shoes, like New Balance cross trainers for almost a year.  NO heals

and NO cheap shoes.

My foot is better now, but soaking in Epsom salts and the vitamin E oil are

almost daily routines now.
