Guest guest
I don't know the answer to this question - but is your friend taking any probiotics and if so which ones? I have a reason for asking. Christapher Friend in hospital, does anyone know side effects of primrose oil I have a friend who is a paraplegic in a wheel chair. He is one of the coolest people I know and one night 3 weeks ago he started vomiting and couldn't stop. They took him to the hospital and his gallbladder and pancreas are swollen. They want to wait for the swelling to go down to take out the gallbladder. They have him in the hospital drugged out of his mind on pain killers, feeding him through an iv and they wake him up every other hour at night to take his bp or do some other inane action that keeps him from getting deep sleep at night. When i went to visit him I saw multi-colored containers on his nightstand, I don't know if it was jello or some other sugar containing substance that they brought to him. I kept all my observations, judgments, disgust to myself but interestingly out of nowhere he asks me to research any side effects of primrose oil b/c that is supposed to help with a swollen pancreas. I am truly fearful for his life while he is in the hospital and I want to help him get this oil if he believes it will help him. Belief is the most important part but I honestly don't know what the side effects are with primrose oil. If anyone knows anything about this, I would be indebted to you if you share this info with me. ------------------------------------
Guest guest
This is a pretty informative article on pancreatitis. It sounds like they think gallstones are the problem and that's why they want to remove it. So something that could dissolve the gallstones would be of the essence. This one talks about the difference between chronic and acute pancreatitis - what is confusing here it is says for acute it clears up on its own in a couple days, the chronic is where it may be caused by gallstones and may need the gallbladder removed. I'm worried for your friend that they're going to remove an organ unnecessarily! http://tinyurl.com/btueez Really, he should get a second opinion on that before he lets them remove it! My sister-in-law is an MD and told me of a case where a guy had extreme stomach pain, they wound up removing his colon and after examining it found out he was only constipated. Now he lives with a colostomy bag the rest of his life. Life without a gallbladder is not ideal, if I were him I'd try to buy some time and find some remedies for gallstones, like maybe eating more vegetables and using malic acid. > > I don't know the answer to this question - but is your friend taking any > probiotics and if so which ones? Guest guest
Christapher, I don't think he takes any. This is SAD person. Before this happened I tried for a while to get him enthused about going to Whole Foods with me. I have been worried for a while b/c he had horrible dark circles under his eyes and I told him it could be related to digestion. > > I don't know the answer to this question - but is your friend taking any > probiotics and if so which ones? Guest guest
Great article, I'll probably print it and bring it in to him. That story you just wrote about the constipation and the colon removal is just another reason why i am so scared for him. Everyone in his life only knows that MD stands for minor deity. He's in a horrible, horrible situation. Can you imagine being paralyzed and then in a bed for three weeks alternating b/w pain inside your body with painkillers that make you unconscious coupled with being woken up every second and add not being fed solid food? It sounds like something from the 9th circle of Dantes Inferno. If I could carry 200 lbs of dead weight, I think I'd break him out of there. He's barely conscious. His parting words when I visited him were " can you research the primrose oil and get back to me " I am just happy he somehow knew about that. > > > > I don't know the answer to this question - but is your friend > taking any > > probiotics and if so which ones? Guest guest
Hi, I would take the coconut oil/water route before EPO. Ray Peat has lots to say about PUFA's. Given your friend most likely has thyroid issues, I would follow Peat's advice on this one. MSM is an anti-inflammatory. So is DMSO. I would sneak him DMSO for the fastest results to get rid of the swelling. That might put off the removal of the organ which is certainly a 'death' wish. This might put enough of a scare into your friend for him to give up the SAD diet. As Broda says, the thyroid should be cancelled out first and not by a blood test. www.stopthethyroidmadness.com www.litalee.com www.raypeat.com Joan
Guest guest
Just checking in again with this question. Does anyone know if evening primrose oil would be better from standard process or mountainroseherbs?
