Guest guest
Moderator's note: We don't list private doctor's names, so I removed them from your post. If it was a TV doctor that would be different. I have had quite a bit of experience with spinal stimulators. I had one in my left shoulder, and one in my lower right back. The shoulder one was to combat my RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy)as my arm pain was so bad I literally carried the arm with me. My two week trial was great, and I was thrilled to have it put in. It did relieve my pain for a while. It is not a very painful surgery, and the wires won't bother you during test period. It was a pain to have to keep the unit charged all the time. If the unit moves, and after it is inserted you will meet with the local representative that sells them and he has to fine tune the unit to how it gives you the best relief. After about a year it stopped working and my neck pain got horrible.I had surgery and the unit was removed at that time. My lower back was painful due to my untreated scoliosis. They did the 2 week test, and could NEVER get it to work, it did nothing. Being that I am thin it made a sizable lump just above my right butt cheek, very annoying. I told my pain Dr and for some stupid reason he still chose to permanently insert it. Post op pain was bad. It NEVER worked. It was then that I found out my Dr falsified my chart and said it gave me full relief, despite the fact the trial period was unsuccessful. What a lie. Later it was found out that he was getting kickbacks from the company for each one he insert....time for a new Doc. I had 2 major surgeries to repair my scoliosis, and they also removed that stimulator. The lower back was extremely painful for a while. I have since found the most incredible neurosurgeon and pain doctor. (I live in Buffalo, NY.) After more than 10 surgeries, I am doing fairly well, but still on huge doses of narcotics. Keep the faith. After 7 years I am finally comfortable though I am permanently disabled and only in my forties. I can't drive due to my very limited neck movement as my entire neck is fused. Luckily I have the world's greatest husband! If anyone wants to contact me for more details, please feel free to E mail me at: donnajeanmcwhite@...,I'd love to help someone else. Good luck on your upcoming surgery! Donna McWhite
