Guest guest
I've had this lingering thought after reading the messages from one of our AA visitors. He was referring to some of us attending AA and not " getting it " . This is an interesting but rather ridiculous concept. Why on earth *should* anyone " get it " ? We are free to make up our own minds about what program, or absence of a program, we use. AA is one of a number of programs, and in spite of its unofficial claims, it is known by an increasingly large number of people to not be the Only Way. So there is absolutely no requirement for anyone to " get it " at all. We are all free to choose it if we like it, or choose something else if we don't. If we go to an AA meeting and think " this is nonsense " then that is our opinion. Telling us that we didn't " get it " is totally missing the point- we got it, we didn't like it and we spat it out again. Running after us with a spoon and trying to feed us the stuff we already spat out is hardly good PR. There must be some intelligent people in AA who realise this, surely... Joe B.
