Guest guest
Yes, I do also have to wonder what my gut will let me eat, but I've got the diffuse jejunoileitis form of Crohn's disease. For the past 5 months all I've been able to get down without screaming pain is grits, oatmeal, applesauce, some dry cereals and whey protein shakes. I am horribly tired of these foods. I used to like eating but now it is just fuel. Do you find yourself craving a particular food then you eat it and your body gives you the dickens? I would do almost anything for a big salad with lots of greens and microgreens and raw carrots and yummies but raw food hurts me. Crohn's is a funny critter - one person can eat something without a problem but another person is doubled over with pain after eating the same thing. Hope you're feeling better! Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, Yes, I end up craving foods that I can't eat and that also makes things frustrating. Every day is different and I can eat one thing one day and do the same after a day and it won't bother me. I sometimes look at it like an allergy jar. That once it fills up that is when the migraine pain starts. I am so used to being in pain that I don't know what a day w/o pain is. >Jeanne B wrote: > Do you find yourself craving a particular food then you eat it and > your body gives you the dickens? Guest guest
I like that about the jar. Yes, it is like that, isn't it? My mantra is " You can eat or you can breathe. " Been loosing a lot of weight because I really do like breathing more. Don't you just love (sarcasm here) when the doctors/nurses ask you what level your pain is at? I usually want to scream 9,287 but they only learned to count to 10. Hope you get a pain free day very very soon - or at least a pain free hour.
