Guest guest
It occurred to me that you might want to invest in a steamer, and just use heat and water to sterilize. Guest guest
We're not meat cutters we do the actual slaughtering as well. I'll give the peroxide a go but I don't think hot water alone will cut grease and our hogs leave a lot of that behind. Thanks Belinda > > > > I just dilute the peroxide in a darkened spray bottle. Guest guest
The H2O2 cuts through blood well and it kills just about everything. They are even using it to kill anthrax by pumping it in gas form into contaminated rooms. I am not sure about cutting grease though. I usually use something else to clean then use the H2O2 to disinfect. It is best if you spray it on and leave it to dry. Tropical Traditions has a cleaner I used and it comes in gallon size. It worked very well on grease and I even cleaned an old oven with it that was in need of some attention! Orange based cleaners also worked well for me cleaning up grease but I can't even find Orange Clean anymore and that was before I was concerned about natural cleaners. I just couldn't use the Clorox my parents are obsessed with as the fumes made me sick. Dawn labelleacres wrote: > > We're not meat cutters we do the actual slaughtering as well. Guest guest
We are required to disinfect with Clorox. It is a cleaner I'm looking for and wondered if anyone has any opinions on Shaklee cleaning products. I already use Basic H for deworming. Never heard of Tropical Traditions, where is it sold? Guest guest
yeah, I use h202 for menstrual stains -works great! A steamer isn't hot water, it's water vapor, so over 212 and yer hog grease is all gone at 140 in a dishwasher. . .also, washing soda is a degreaser (i use it in laundry soap) and it would seem very easy to add your orange oil or lemon oil for additional degreasing properties once you figure your formula. it would even seem possible to make a concentrate and put it on a hose sprayer (the way mosquito yard spray on a hose works). also fyi on the steamer, if you have hard water in tennessee like here in kentucky, you have to put a pinch of salt or baking soda in the steamer or it won't work. i got one off of freecycle from someone who just thought hers didn't work. i lost it in the last move, and miss it a lot. my husband says butchering's easy, it's the killing that's hard. . . .
