Hi Steve Is it possible for you to see a counselor? It has helped me very much over the years. Chronic pain, or illness affects the whole family. Your feelings are valid and normal, but can eventually make you feel worse, and put a terrible stress on your loved ones. Believe me, I have been there. Guest guest
Is it possible for me to see a counselor? Talk about a loaded question! I had a great therapist (only one I really trusted), but he can only accept Medicaid, but not Medicare. It's a rule at the office he works, not an insurance thing. His level of certification is okay for Medicaid, but Medicare requires licensing. I have had one to two dozen different therapists since childhood and I refuse to start over from the beginning, yet again. My chronic pain makes it really difficult for me to go to appointments. I had to cancel quite a few appointments same day because there was no way for me to drive when my pain was a nine or ten of ten. Until it becomes legal for therapists to charge insurance for telephone sessions, there isn't a chance in hell of me trying therapy again. I guess I could try to get approved for hone based therapy services, but I just don't have the energy right now. My life is on hold until I get an intrathecal pump. Guest guest
Hi , I totally know what you mean about not even making appointments because of the pain. I missed an appointment a few weeks ago with my primary doctor because I felt so bad. I thought to myself, that's pretty pathetic to fell too bad to make it to the doctor!!!
