Hi Crystal,

I don't know what I would do if I still was working!! I think I would probably

be dead! I worked for 6 months and I finally had a day where I just broke down

and cried at work. I told my boss my doctor called and wanted to see me. That is

the last day I worked. My job was in nursing, taking care of patients! I

couldn't keep doing that, knowing I was one of the patients who needed care.

That was 5 years ago! I have been missing work lately, but know I could never do

it!

I am on new medications now. My pain doctor now put me on Dilaudid. I don't know

how well I like it, I think it's better than the Fentanyl. It feels like

something is squeezing me around my rib cage. I see my doctor next Thursday and

will see what he says.

Hope you will be having a pain free evening!

Sometimes the only reason I think about not working is because my doctors say

that they can't believe how hard I've worked, and what I've put my body through.

But I must have masochistic tendencies or something because I will work my butt

off no matter the pain. Not healthy I know, but that's inherent in my

personality. Though I have a desk job (apart from my part-time humane society

work). I couldn't imagine being on my feet all day like the work of a nurse, or

having to console your patients when you yourself need consoling. At least I

can go into " recluse mode " if I had to, where I work from home or lighten my

work load a bit.

I haven't heard of Dilaudid. My latest medication is Gabapentin

(neurontin) which I've been on maybe 10 days now. At first I was very

dizzy, nauseous, head fuzzy from it, but that's wearing off. I don't think it's

working for my pain. You'll have to keep us updated on how the Dilaudid is

working for ya.

Cheers!
