Guest guest
> did Weston Price find dramatically > varying ratios among the groups he studied? You can find healthy people at every mix of percent imaginable. It depends on health and activity and food quality. I would recommend forgetting the percent mix, and just pay attention to how many grams of protein, fat, and carb, while you find the mix for you. Protein: enough for your size, more if doing athletics, manual labor, pregnancy or lactation Carb: a great continuum is at Sissons' site (sorry to keep slavishly quoting him) I think his numbers are a little high but you get the idea. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-primal-carbohydrate-continuum/ Fat: the rest of your major calories. Guest guest
What did you acquire from the list I sent you? I would like to hear your thoughts and what other health aspects you saw that were beyond the model. Were than any ideas you disliked? It definately lacks any feminine qualities to it. None of the right brained thinking. If you consider that feminine. I noticed you had it at 8% poly. Did you base that off of mother's milk? What sources have motivated your system? Guest guest
I just tried the fitday web site to get a sense of my ratios of macronutrients. On a typical day (not counting the 3 days/2 weeks I eat a pint of ice cream), I seem to have a low _percentage_ of protein, even though its 98 grams, which seems plenty. The percentages were Fat 62%, Carbs 21%, Protein 16%, about 2400 calories. As for the main protein sources, I ate bacon and milk for breakfast and had half a pound of ground beef for dinner, kefir for desert. I'm not sure using the fitday really captures everything exactly--I had to substitute yogurt for kefir, since there was no kefir entry. I've been on a WAPF diet for about a year and a half. (I had been high carb vegan.) I've cured my allergies and feel better. At first, I even seemed to lose a pound or two--I wasn't overweight to start and was generally fit. I play basketball intensively for about three hours twice a week and my energy levels have stayed high through my diet changes. However, three square meals was adding a few pounds, so I cut back to two meals and have been trying to lower my carbs. I've been reading Taubes' book and it is a real eye-opener. But I've never calculated my macronutrient content before, so I'm just wondering how this looks. Is this really low in protein? Is it too low in fat? And how low should carbs be to benefit (I'm at 130 grams here)?
