Guest guest
****This blog is not yet done. I will be filling in and amending copy on this blog throughout March 2009. However, I felt that this ingredient list was so important even as it stands that it deserved to be posted " as is " . I wanted to get a copy of Willy's current baggie (which I call Willy's Baggie II) posted to the Internet despite the fact that I expect to amend and upgrade this blog soon.**** Dear friends: Introduction For a few years I have realized that the original nutrient formula that generated my son Willy's amazing recovery from an ADHD diagnosis, classic bipolar symptoms, and weak and sickly childhood health could (and should) be improved from what we were still doing in this regard. In January of 2009, I finally made a significant step forward in the above regard. One of my goals in doing so was to see if Willy's baggie formula could work faster in regard to resolving the symptom of " hearing voices " . I was only dealing with a single candidate in this regard; the person that had taken Willy's original baggie formula for this " hearing voices " symptom in November of 2008. However, my thought was that if an upgraded baggie could improve the resolution of " hearing voices " in one person, perhaps this upgraded baggie might be better for other persons with similar problems as well. I am still only dealing with one candidate with " hearing voices " symptoms. He reports that this improved baggie works noticeably better that the original baggie that he took in November 2008. I also notice that this improved baggie works significantly better for my own wellness than the original formula that Willy and I used for years. I simply feel better mood-wise and otherwise vs. how I felt from taking baggies before. I also notice that these improvements get better over time… a few weeks taking these improved baggies on a daily basis helped me to achieve a greater state of wellness than Willy's older baggie did. Willy himself also reports that this upgraded baggie seems to works noticeably better than the version he has been taking for years. His experience in this regard is extremely limited, but I expect that Willy will be saying the same thing in the weeks and months to come. What is responsible for the apparent improvement of therapeutic value in this improved baggie formula vs. Willy's original baggie, I just don't know. My guess here is that it is the additional amino acid and mineral content vs. Willy's original baggie. However, it is admittedly going to take more time to sort this out. I admit to all that I am only making " educated guesses " in regard to improving Willy's original baggie formula. Willy's original baggie formula itself was simply an " educated guess " . In formulating baggies since August 2004 (when Willy first insisted on supplementing this way), I was (and still am) simply trying to provide balanced and " therapeutically adequate " nutrition across the entire nutrient range. Regarding Sources for Baggie Material For years I simply bought much of Willy's baggie material in health food stores in or near Utica, NY. I only bought off the Internet what I could not source locally. I am now sourcing everything in Willy's baggie from Internet sources. This clearly seems the way to get the best supplement material for the least possible cost. The five Internet sources I am currently using are: 1. http://www.vitacost.com I am extremely impressed with what Vitacost has to offer vs. the prices that they charge. I expect to be using this vendor on a regular basis for much of Willy's baggie material in the future. 2. http://www.jomarlabs.com This is the amino acid wholesaler that I have been using since February 2000 for much of the free form amino acid product that I buy. I am not aware of any other Internet source that sells kilos of free form amino acid blended products at an affordable price. 3. http://www.equilib.us/ The above is the source of the Equilib vitamin and mineral preparation that has had some success in treating bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression all on its own. This supplement and the Truehope supplement are nearly identical. At one time the company that produced the Truehope supplement was the company that manufactures the Equilib supplement as well. I would have started Willy on using the Equilib supplement in 2004, but he had tested so high for copper in September 1997, I opted to " go another route " and use a health food store vitamin called Source of Life Ultra instead, and add some calcium, magnesium, and zinc to this multivitamin (especially zinc). Whether I made the best decision here or not, I will probably never know. After about four years of Willy using the Source of Life or Source of Life Ultra vitamin for the base multivitamin multi-mineral preparation in his baggie, I advised him to switch to the Equilib supplement in the summer of 2008. I told him to put six capsules of Equilib in his baggie, and to take an additional six capsules later in the day (preferably in the late afternoon or at dinner). I also told him to work up to another six capsules for a total of eighteen capsules daily to see if it helped him noticeably more than taking only twelve capsules a day. Willy did work up to eighteen capsules daily at one point, but he has backed down to twelve capsules a day, as he did not see enough benefit in himself vs. cost of material being used. 4. http://www.throppsnutrition.com/ Willy and I have both been using Thropp's Nutrition for digestive enzymes since we began using such. There may be better product available somewhere on the Internet, but this company seems to offer " very good product at an affordable price " . 5. http://www.majesticearth-minerals.com/ Years ago I read Dr. Wallach's book " Dead Doctors Don't Lie " . This man convinced me of the importance of many minerals in human health that are not normally heard about. We don't just need a dozen or so commonly known minerals to be truly healthy, we also need minute quantities of many dozens of other minerals as well. I am finally using a capsule containing minute amounts of many of these minerals (that are not commonly found in other multi-mineral supplements) in Willy's new baggie formula. Conclusion Based on what I have seen various versions of Willy's baggie do over the years for Willy, myself, and a number of other persons I am convinced that pioneer nutritionist Adelle was right years ago when she postulated " when healing, take the entire nutrient range all at once " . Based on what little experience I and a few other persons have had with the above rendition of Willy's baggie formula, I am convinced that this version of Willy's baggie is significantly better than the one we were using only a few short months ago. Admittedly, there are " common needs " to do a number of other things in order to properly heal. Perhaps needless to say, it is always wise to strongly consider the need for allergic food avoidance, the need to correct intestinal dysbiosis, and the need to correct other common " gut problems " as well. These considerations all fall within the domain of " the standard practice of alternative medicine " . Regardless of the abovementioned " common needs " in which to heal, it is my opinion that when it comes to nutritional supplementation, very broad based supplementation (similar in scope and substance to what is proposed above) is a key part of " the right healing approach " . This " healing approach " applies to millions of persons who suffer from a myriad of illnesses, both physical and mental in nature.
